A litter cleanup event is open to the public along Martin Luther King Drive from 9 am to noon. Volunteers should plan to meet at Wheatley Alternative shortly before 9 am to sign in. Water, gloves, bags, and shirts will be available to volunteer participants while supplies last. If there are more volunteers than expected, some volunteers will be asked to go to a nearby park to pick up litter.
Other events for registered groups are scheduled for areas throughout the city to include Kegley Drive, 5th Street, Charter Oak Drive, and Bird Creek. There is always time to sign-up your group to do a litter cleanup. If you have a youth group, a neighborhood group, or a service club that would like to participate, call KTB at (254) 493-4000 and we will help to provide you with the materials needed to join in this communitywide kick-off event.
